Dr. Kathryn Hauptmann joined Pediatric Care North in 1997. She is a native of southern Kansas City. After graduating from Center High School, she attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City, obtaining a BS in Biology and a BA in Chemistry. She also attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, earning her medical degree in 1991.
Dr. Hauptmann finished her residency in Pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in 1994. She then completed a subspecialty fellowship in Clinical Genetics at Washington University School of Medicine in 1996.
She is a Board Certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Hauptmann has been married for over 30 years to her husband, Ed, a local anesthesiologist. They are the proud parents of four children: Teddy, Evie, Katia and Christoff, and their first grandchild Theo. As their children grow, they enjoy traveling to visit them in their various locations.
Dr. Hauptmann enjoys using her own personal maternal experiences to help guide her patients in caring for and raising their own children, from birth through adolescence. In her free time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, doing needlepoint and monogram projects, playing mahjong, and gardening.
100% Greek and fluent in the language, Dr. Hauptmann is an active member of the Greek community and the Orthodox Church. She volunteers for the annual Greek Festival and performs in an adult Greek dance troupe.
